The 20% Off the Job Training rules are still seen as the biggest barrier to growing apprenticeship starts. Employers are still confused by the regulations and providers will need to take the lead on actively managing this issue. At our last webinar only around 20% of providers had a formal policy on how they are managing the 20% rules so we will look at ways to take this forward. We will also look at how the rules on recognising prior learning are linked to the 20% OTJ rules. The main benefit is to share with others how they are managing these issues.
Facilitated by Lucy Dunleavy, LearnBox & Susanna Lawson, OneFile
Lifelong learning is an economic imperative to keep up with the speed of technological change. In this session we look at how technology can be used to improve and enhance the apprenticeship journey for all involved - effectively measuring progression, ensuring individualised support, delivering high-quality learning that can provide the highest Functional Skills pass rates. Technology within education can also support business needs by driving efficiencies, increasing standardisation and increasing R.O.I.

From 2019/20, around 50% of the AEB will be devolved to 7 Combined Authorities (CAs) & delegated to the Greater London Authority (GLA). These entities will make their own commissioning decisions about where to allocate funds for delivery to residents of devolved areas. In this session we’ll explore the emerging trends within these geographies, and look to what they may offer in the future.
